Welcome to a brand-new school year! I am so excited to begin this journey with you and your children. I am truly looking forward to working and watching them grow, learn, and shine, and creating wonderful memories together along the way.
Fourth grade is going to be an exciting year filled with learning, laughter, new adventures, and plenty of opportunities to grow!
This year, we will work together as a TEAM-students, families, and teachers- to make this a successful and memorable year. I believe that when we work together, encourage one another, and celebrate each other's successes, amazing things can happen!
Let's make this a year filled with curiosity, kindness, confidence, and lots of fun!

10/1 - Pretzel Day
Our school day begins at 7:50am and dismissal is 2:30pm. Students are marked late if they enter the building after the start time.
All parents MUST write me a note or email be if your child is being dismissed different then their normal routine. This goes for BUS students as well. If a different person is picking up your child they must be on the emergency card on file and have ID on them when picking up.
When students arrive in the morning they are to empty their backpacks with what they need for the entire day. When changing classes they will use their nylon sacks- which will hold ONLY those books needed. Lunches will be kept in a designated area in our classroom. Students will not be allowed to go back and forth to the closets. As the weather changes they will go to the closets for just their jackets. Backpacks with wheels ARE NOT ALLOWED. This is for safety concerns.
If your child has a CELLPHONE, they will be collected and put in a locked area in the classroom and returned prior to dismissal.
All students are allowed to have REUSABLE water bottles in school- however, please only send in containers that are spillproof. As per school policy- STANLEY or OTHER METAL WATER BOTTLES are NOT allowed.
Birthdays are welcomed to be celebrated in our classroom providing it is kept simple...a small treat. Parents MUST email me at least one week prior to your child's birthday so that we can plan accordingly. Summer birthdays will be celebrated in June.
Full spring/summer uniforms must be adhered to until it has been announced to switch over to fall/winter uniform. Please refer back to the school handbook for the policy requriements. Gym uniforms are only to be worn on GYM and YOGA days.
Snack $ MUST be kept in your child's lunch bag or in their folder. They will not be allowed to go to their backpacks for it. If they also forget it in the classroom they will not be allowed to go back to the classroom for it.
All monies collected MUST be in an ENVELOPE with your child's name, grade- who it is going to and what it is for.
Homework is copied daily- if your child does not copy - nor finish copying- or is late to school- they are to check the website for it.
Homework Policy- Homework MUST be completed every night-in the student's handwriting. All assignments are checked daily in class. Each quarter the student will start with 100.. for every missing homework 5 points will be deducted. Randomly homework will be collected and graded to ensure that students are mastering what they have learned in class.
A student information sheet will be sent home the first day of school for me to keep in the classroom. It is very important that you fill it out and send it back immediately the next day.
Class Moms- I will communicate as needed for them to send out any important reminders, changes or things needed for the classroom. Please DO NOT use them to ask "what is for homework or what tests are coming up?" All that information will be given to your child ahead of time as well as posted on this website page. I will also let them know when birthday celebrations are occurring and what will be sent in. If your child has an allergy and can't eat what is being sent in, then I ask that you send in a little snack for them that day. This is to ensure their safety.
It is the student's responsibility to empty their folder in the morning and put any important envelope or notes they may have in my "CLASSROOM MAILBOX"
Please be prepared for class- all pencils must be sharpened every night and your child must have a silent reader grade level and appropriate for class at all times.
Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns that you may have during the school year- [email protected] Please understand that if you are emailing me during the school hours I will get back to you within 24 hrs. If it is an emergency- please call the main office. If you email me on the weekend I will get back to you on Monday. Please do not go through the class mom. Always contact me!
Please check the FACTS website weekly - you can review your child's grades and missing assignments there. All assessments and graded classwork will go home in the "Tuesday Test Folder". Parents PLEASE SIGN, EMPTY and RETURN the folder. If your child has a grade below 70 you will need to sign the test and return it back.
We are departmental this year- you will need to check both 3rd grade (Mrs.D'Amico's website for Math and Religion homework) and our website for all other subjects)
Test schedules will be announced on Friday for the following week
